Compensation

BHMI offers competitive salaries for all positions within the corporation. In addition, BHMI has always had an "employee-centric" philosophy. We believe that everyone in the company who contributes to the welfare of the corporation should share in the rewards that are generated. For this reason, BHMI offers a stock options program in which all employees – not just a select few – are eligible to participate. In this way, everyone gets to share in the excitement of the company's success in a tangible way.

BHMI also offers a yearly discretionary bonus program. Bonus amounts are determined each year, but the program gives the company a way of providing an extra reward for those who have energetically contributed to the corporation's success during the course of the year.


Environment

Environment isn't normally included in a list of employee benefits, but we think the environment for BHMI technical employees is special. Because the corporation has a strong technical orientation, everyone has an office – with a door – so that outside distractions can be shut out whenever you need to work without interruption. Because we're team-oriented, we encourage people to interact to resolve technical issues, but at some point, people have to think – and we try to create a tranquil atmosphere to facilitate that process.

All developers are tied into our integrated software development environment – we try to make the development tools work as quickly as you do. And if you have suggestions to speed that process up, we'll listen.

Everyone in the company gets free coffee, tea, soft drinks, fruit, yogurt, bagels, and assorted snacks. BHMI is probably one of the few companies in the Midwest that stocks eight different types of potato chips!


Flexible Hours

BHMI knows that creativity doesn't operate on a timeclock. We expect employees to be effective – and people are effective at different times. So we aren't concerned if your schedule doesn't coincide with usual business hours. However, you will be part of a professional team, and you will have responsibilities as a team member. This means that if any team technical discussions, project meetings, or customer meetings are scheduled outside your normal schedule, you would be expected to participate as part of your professional responsibilities.
